Grow Your Own Herbs and Micro Greens with Lula

Growing your own herbs and micro greens is easy with Backyard Farmer's Lula Micro Greenhouse. Follow these simple steps to get started.

Lula from Backyard Farmer is the perfect solution for cultivating a kitchen garden right on your benchtop.

1. Prepare for Planting

Fill container with high-quality potting mix and level the surface. Make holes in the soil that are deep and wide enough to accommodate the roots of each seedling.

2. Spacing and Watering

Plant each seedling according to the spacing instructions for your seedling type. Gently press down around the base of the seedling to secure it. Water seedlings well—this helps settle the soil and reduces transplant shock. Regularly monitor and refill the reservoir. If seedlings are small, water from the top.

3. Care and Maintenance

Place dome cover on to return moisture and protect from pests or frost if placed outside. Remove cover during warmer weather. Place in an area with sunlight that meets the seedlings' requirements and watch your seedlings grow—ready to add to your favourite dishes.

Note: Lula is ideal for germinating seeds and growing micro greens—but once they’re established, remove the dome to avoid over-humid conditions.
